The Year of the Wood Snake starts tomorrow 29 January 2025.
The Lunar New Year is one of the most important festivals for many Asian communities.
Many from East and Southeast Asian countries follow the Chinese zodiac.
But if you’re born under the zodiac sign of the Snake, it may not be a good year for you as a clash with Tai Sui, or the guardian deity could bring in a year of challenges and troubled relationships.
According to Auckland-based feng shui master Jojo Zhou, the Snake won’t be alone as the Tiger, Monkey and Pig will also have clashes with Tai Sui.

Zodiac signs that can expect a good year are the Rat, Dragon and Dog.
“Snakes will be clashing with their own tai sui, or ben ming nian, so they should pay attention to interpersonal relationships and emotional issues. Attending joyful events can help alleviate challenges,” Zhou told chowluckclub.com
“Tigers are likely to feel significant pressure and encounter obstacles in their endeavors, Monkeys should take care of their health and the Pig will face a year of many changes which can be best addressed through frequent movement or travel.”
When a person’s zodiac sign clashes with Tai Sui, their relationships will also be affected which is why Snakes should be more open in communications with their partner.

For Snakes in a stable relationship, getting married this year could also ward off the bad luck that comes from offending Tai Sui.
