The technology uses ultrasound technology to send sound waves through every layer of the skin and underlying adipose tissue causing micro-trauma and a healing response over time.
The epidermis and dermis get firmed up during the healing process which is caused by the laying down of new collagen and elastin matrix.

To see if this procedure suits you, you can make an initial consultation with Jones, and the treatment itself will usually take anywhere between 45 minutes to two hours depending on the complexity of the treatment.
To allow the handpiece to move smoothly over the treatment area and cool down the outer layer skin, a cooling lubricating gel is applied.
“In many cases, one session is enough, but if more than one session is needed then the second one will be done only after at least three months after we see the result of the first session,” Jones said.
The number of sessions required is usually dependent on the extent of the sagging skin, the bulk of adipose tissue.
Results should be visible immediately and improve over a period of two to four months. Following the treatment, annual maintenance once a year is required.
“HIFU treatment is very safe and most people can go back to their normal activities after the treatment,” Jones said.
Common side effects include minor swelling, redness and tenderness around the treated area.
“These will normally go away in a few days,” Jones said.
