Starting in August, at the Hilton Auckland’s FISH Restaurant, diners can experience a dining experience like no other.

Le Petit Chef is an interactive dining experience that uses 3D mapping technology to project interactive animations that complement the meal.

A tiny 6cm-tall virtual chef will move around your table along with other projections.

The FISH Restaurant describes the experience as “the best of theatre and dining in an immersive journey,” which follows Le Petit Chef, the “world’s smallest chef”.

“Enjoy an unforgettable experience that will capture your imagination,” the eatery says on its website.

“He will transport you to his animated world. Immerse yourself in a vibrant 3D-animated experience as you follow his quest to gather the finest ingredients and witness the expert preparation of your exquisite dinner.”

As this will be the 100th location where the global concept will be, diners will also be getting some exclusive gifts while stocks last.

Diners can select from a classic menu, vegetarian menu or a dedicated kids menu.

“While the culinary offerings differ, the visual experience remains the same for all guests and is based on the Classic Menu,” the eatery says.

The concept that originated in Belgium first made its debut in Auckland at Snowplanet’s onsite restaurant 7Summits Restaurant & Bar in 2018.

This is the first time that Le Petit Chef will be at the Hilton Auckland.
