Celebrate the Year of the Snake with a festive culinary celebration at Treasure Kitchen where auspicious traditions and delicious food have come together.
The restaurant is presenting a Lunar New Year menu featuring Poon Choi and set menus for groups of up to 10 people per table.
All sets showcase the Prosperity Salmon Yusheng salad as a starter, a staple and a must-have for celebratory dining during the season to usher in prosperity.
“Yusheng is a Lunar New Year tradition in Southeast Asia, especially in Singapore and Malaysia,” explained Treasure Kitchen owner and executive chef Sam Ng.
“People gather around the table, place fish slices, ingredients and sauces in a large dish and stand to mix them with chopsticks while shouting ‘lo hei, lo hei’, or prosper prosper!.”
The higher the toss, the better your fortunes will be in the coming year, Ng said.
The sets, priced from $528 for six persons, $698 for eight and $1098 for 10 persons, features time-honoured favourites including whole crispy blue cod, braised mushroom with sea cucumber and broccoli and glutinous rice with Chinese cured meat.
The dishes on the set menus embody tradition and good fortune.
The 10-person set elevates the festive feast with a mini Buddha Jump Over the Wall dish and also Treasure Kitchen’s signature Eight Treasure Duck.
Ng said the menus were designed to blend tradition and deliciousness and to symbolise the auspicious significance of blessings for health and wealth associated with dining during Lunar New Year celebrations.
